Sneakerheads is a collection of 5,000 NFTs committed to aligning two worlds with significant overlap, sneaker culture, and web3.  In a bear market, building a community around an NFT project from scratch is tough.  But take an existing community and create an NFT within it, and you can generate bull-market level hype.  This is what Sneakerheads accomplished.  The team has promised airdrops, collaborations with known brands, and more for holders that “stock” their Sneakerheads.  Stocking is explained further in the utility section of this report.

Team:

Ali Dawood did the art and is listed as a co-founder of Sneakerheads.  He is a relatively well-known artist with 34,000 followers on Instagram.  Fares Benouhhiba has over 20 years of experience in marketing and branding, working with some of France’s biggest brands.  Head of strategy and community, Sam Zuckerbraun, is a sneakerhead by nature, having founded businesses dedicated to selling streetwear and sneakers.  All team members appear to genuinely love sneaker culture, indicating a strong founder-market fit.

Utility:

Collectors have the option of “rocking” or “stocking” their NFTs.  Stocking an NFT is a form of “soft staking,” a stocked Sneakerhead can earn airdrops, exclusive collaborations, and more with more benefits available the longer your NFTs are stocked.     

Social Media Metrics:

Buying into the existing ethos of sneaker culture, Sneakerheads has amassed a large following of 308,000 on Twitter and over 80,000 in their Discord channel.

The Possessed NFT or shorthand, Pssssd, is a collection of 10,000 animated avatars.  After an experiment to expand human creativity goes awry, the characters now have two states, possessed and blessed.  Buying an NFT gets the purchaser one animated NFT and two static pfp images, one in the blessed state and one in the possessed state.  The Pssssd team has the stated mission of building a project based on the three C’s, creativity, community, and collaboration.  

Discord is a place where this collection truly separates itself.  To enter the channel one must obtain a password from a video transmission of an experimenter at the lab.  New members, must receive a visitor pass to access the waiting room, the main channel used for communication within the Discord.  Adding these features to this Discord benefits Pssssd in two ways, 1) it adds lore for the community 2) it prevents bots from earning allowlist spots.          

Team:

Originally an anonymous team, the two founders eventually doxxed themselves in separate mirror posts.  Tom, the developer, previously founded and was CTO of a UK-based startup called Hubble.  At Hubble he earned recognition on the Forbes’ 30 under 30 list and the firm was recognized as the 26th fastest growing technology company in the UK by Deloitte.

Joe AKA whatthefurr is responsible for the art behind Psssd.  Prior to working on NFTs, Joe started a design firm called Point Studio and worked with startups ranging in specialty from healthcare to artificial intelligence.       

Utility:

Keeping with the classified experiment narrative, Psssd is being vague in their roadmap.  From their “leaked dossier,” you can gather that future drops and apparel are coming down the road, and likely before the end of the year.    

Social Media Metrics:

Despite a lack of experience in community building and marketing, the team has been able to amass one of the largest followings of any pre-mint project on the market.  Psssd has over 230,000 followers on Twitter and nearly 80,000 members in its Discord.
